Applying for a position at Gunther Village
When completing the application form you are required to provide an updated resume, a certified copy of your qualification attainment certificates and a covering letter.

Application Tips
To maximise your opportunity for employment in this role, the following is suggested:
A covering letter with a statement addressing your skills, experience and expression of interest that is relevant to the position you are applying for. Within your cover letter, demonstrate what you are passionate about and what you aspire to be. Details concerning the required selection criteria (skills, experience and capacities) are contained in the Position Description. A Position Description is available on request from the Administration Office. 

Interview and selection process
A selection panel interviews and selects our staff. The panel includes the Facility Manager and a member of the team who works in the relevant area. The selection of candidates for positions in Gunther Village is determined by skills, knowledge, experience and the personal qualities that best match the job requirements, Gunther Villages’ Vision, Mission and Values, and our Strategic Direction. The selection panel will assess your ability to do the job through interview questions and referee checks. On the job training will be provided for staff undertaking traineeships.

Referee Check
The selection panel will contact your referees if you are shortlisted following an interview. Your nominated referees must include your current direct line supervisor. The selection panel will ask your referees to comment on your work behaviour and can be asked to verify or comment on claims made by you.

Federal Police Check & Yellow Card
An Australian Federal Police Check & Yellow Card are required to work at Gunther Village.

Any recorded details on your criminal records do not necessarily disqualify you from selection. You will be given the opportunity to discuss the matter before any final decision is made.

Orientation
All successful applicants will be required to go through an orientation process; this is paid time and gives you the opportunity to become familiar with our duties lists, policies and procedures. During this time you will be inducted in supporting our values and shown how to reflect our mission statement in the way we deliver care and treat each other in a professional setting.
